Why I turned to becoming a cam girl and what i meant for me.
I have had a slight addiction to Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and plenty of other stores for years. If you have any doubts, I would be happy to show you my credit card bills. While I have cut down on my spending in the past few years, my personal assistant’s salary has barely made a dent in what I owe. I tried several different side jobs, but I honestly wasn’t making enough to make it worthwhile. So, what was I, a young woman, to do?
Finding the answer
I started looking online for something that would not interfere with my work schedule and would allow me to make enough money to really decrease the amount I owed. I kept running across ads for webcam modelling and I finally clicked on one. That is how I, a personal assistant with a reputation for being prim, proper, and having a slight obsession with high-end designers, became a webcam model.
Working as a webcam model
I am probably not what you think of when you hear the term ‘webcam model’. I am actually quite shy which works to my advantage because many men view this as teasing and are more inclined to request a private show. Private shows and tips are where the majority of money is to be made, so I recognised quickly I would have to let go of some of my inhibitions if I wanted viewers to keep paying. Honestly, after a few weeks I was really comfortable with nudity. Compliments are constantly being tossed at me and I have realised my self-esteem is higher than it has ever been.
Reducing my debt
To be honest, I have been making good money and have been able to pay down my debt quite a bit, but I still shop, though not quite as much. In addition, I have been trying to make the money for my new buys before I actually purchase the item. For example, when I knew a new Mulberry bag was coming out, I increased the amount of time that I spent working online. By the time it was on the shelves, I had made enough not to have to put it on my credit card. How many other side jobs can you find that let you pick and choose when you work, as well as give you the opportunity to work as much or as little as you want?
I would never have thought I would be working as a webcam model, but I actually enjoy it more than I could have ever imagined. There are just too many benefits not to. Between the money, flexibility, convenience of being able to do it from home (even if the weather is horrible) and the boost to my self-esteem, webcam modelling has worked out very well indeed for me.
